On Friday 29th July 2011, John Hopwood, the managing director has been invited to speak at the International Conference on Remanufacturing (ICoR) at Strathclyde University to offer a perspective on remanufacturing and durability of domestic appliances.
Mr Hopwood was invited to speak due to ISE's involvement with the WEEE Directive, various government departments and consulting bodies taking an interest in saving resources by reducing waste and consumption. With ISE's radical take on how to achieve this being a core element of interest to representatives from around the world.
Mr Hopwood said that he was delighted to be invited not only to attend but also to be allowed to present what ISE does and explain how product longevity and durability will save consumers more than token gestures in energy saving, which all to often have compromises attached that people do not understand as they are not explained.
The conference runs from 27-29th July 2011.
